An e-mail from a fellow American in Lebanon

This American woman has been living here for over 20 years. She's married to a Lebanese man. Her kids are Lebanese. She used to teach anthropolgy at the American University of Beirut.

My husband and I are doing OK in the village [it's in the North]. He plans to leve It is incredible what and how much the
Israelis are
bombing. This is clearly an assault on Lebanon as a whole and not
simply a
matter of defense against Hizballah. It is incredible how the US stands
alone in not taking any stand to constrain Israel. If Israel ever hoped
to
be accepted in the region, it is destroying that hope as it destroys
each
bridge, wheat silo, oil storage tank, etc.
