They're bombing

It's 7 a.m. I've been up for half an hour. Thanks so much for the comments and e-mails. I feel very loved and supported.

There have already been two bombs since I've been on the computer, and I can hear the planes flying overhead.

It's a scary sound. I can't see them.

So I'm wondering if I should risk my life going into Beirut today to get my passport. In earlier blogs, I always used that phrase half-sarcastically, saying every time I go into Beirut, I risk my life, because the Beirut-Damascus highway is so horribly awful. And the people drive like maniacs, especially when you take the cheap vans like me, filled with Syrian workers and others trying to get to Baalbak as fast as they can.

It's also where the Presidential Palace is in Baabda. During the war, the Syrians and Israelis would come in on this main artery. And they've already bombed it Thursday. I read and heard from somebody they got the Hazmieh bridge. But Wael went down twice yesterday, and he said it was fine. Just empty. The whole city is empty, because no one is stupid enough like him to drive around. Someone told me that

DAMN--that's a loud one.

Someone told me that the Israelis might just start shooting at any cars moving around. Everyone is just too scared.

My mom thinks with my expired passport and copy of my new one, I'm okay.

It's really amazing how important information is. It's like my phone line is my life line, literally.

DAMN--it sounds like the plane is right over my head. The guy on the balcony next to me said it was the port in Beirut. I don't keep the TV on. I hate the noise. I keep the balcony door open so I can hear.

But I need to get the update of what happened over these six hours when I slept. I'll wait to talk to somebody. I don't have time to scan headlines or try to make out the jumbled mess on the TV.

From Uncle Charlie:
I think your mom is right. Don't go for your passport right now. If you have other identification which shows you are an American, along with your expired passort and a copy of the new one, it should work. In addition, the State department has your passport number on a list along with those who will need help to get out.

Delete the comment from that A-hole and place mine for others to see. If that Ahole would like to start his own private war, I will accomodate him and he then can see what the fear of God is like.

Dont' mess with blood or family fellow(coward). Name the place and time.
