He gave me the scoop on the 1000 newcomers to Aley. Many of them are staying in the public schools. In fact, people from the South and the southern suburbs of Beirut have been left homeless and have become internal refugees throughout Lebanon.
Fadi went that morning to pass out medicine through the PSP (Druze) Party. He said about 70% of the kids are sick.
Of course, that's just some of the people. Most of the people have nothing. They're staying at the public schools. They need food, medicine, and all kinds of humanitarian assistance.
I fled. I won't be offering my volunteer services to Caritas, Mercy Corps, the Red Cross and the others who have to serve these people.
